Made for Shorts on your phone

  • Vertical video in MP4

Shorts keep their vertical format and are saved as MP4 with H.264 video, in the qualities YouTube offers for that Short, up to 1080p.

  • Shorts links work as copied

Paste the youtube.com/shorts/ link exactly as the app copies it. Regular youtube.com and youtu.be links work too, so there is nothing to edit first.

  • From Downloads to your gallery

The MP4 lands in your browser’s Downloads. On iPhone, open it from Safari’s Downloads and save it to Photos; on Android, move it to your gallery from Downloads or the Files app.

  • Sound and captions too

Want just the sound of a Short? Save it as M4A or MP3. When the Short has captions, you can also save them as an .srt subtitle file.

Frequently asked questions

How do I save a YouTube Short to my iPhone Photos?

Download the MP4 in Safari, then open Safari’s Downloads or the Downloads folder in the Files app. Tap the video, tap Share and choose Save Video to add it to Photos.

Where do downloaded Shorts go on Android?

They usually go to your browser’s Downloads, which you can also find in the Files app. From there, move or share the video into your gallery.

What quality are downloaded Shorts?

Each Short is saved as an MP4 with H.264 video, in the qualities YouTube offers for it, up to 1080p. You choose the quality from the list before saving.

Which Shorts can’t be downloaded?

Only public Shorts work. Private, deleted, age-restricted and members-only Shorts can’t be saved, and neither can live streams. If YouTube blocks requests for a while, try again later.

Do I need an app to download Shorts?

No. SaveArrow runs in Safari, Chrome and other phone browsers, with no app and no account. If you opened the page inside another app and saving doesn’t work, open it in Safari or Chrome.

Can I repost Shorts I download?

Only save Shorts you have the right to use, like your own or ones the creator lets you keep. Respect creators’ rights and YouTube’s terms, and don’t repost other people’s Shorts.
